OVERVIEW

Vampires are immortal beings, defined by their dualistic nature to survive off blood and be drawn to the dark, both physically and mentally. While there are many differences between each individual vampire, these core traits apply to all of them in varying degrees.

All vampires are created into what is called a "Heritage" by the general culture of vampires. These bloodlines determine much about a individual vampire and links them via an unnatural family tree. This includes but is not limited to, appearance, abilities, political power, strengths, weakness and more. Below you will find the accepted Heritages and their appropriate lore, abilities and other aspects of each.

Vampiric society varies from region to region and from country to country, and almost always is hierarchal based on seniority or experience. Generally, these hierarchies are regional and thus consist of a certain Heritage. However, in the Americas the war for dominance still rages on. These Americanist vampires were those whom fled their homes due to selfish desire for land or fear of those whom were in power.

"The blood of the covenant is thicker than the blood of the sire" is a phrase that has importance in the New World. While packs of vampires exist on other continents, these packs were squads typically loyal to a elder vampire and were mostly Heritage exclusive, at least before modern age. The New World on the other hand has a perpetual civil war raging in the shadows of cities.

Vampires from all types of bloodlines have joined in packs for a common cause in the Blood Economy. This wealth comes from many assets but the most important is territory where humans live their very lives. With the many varying values of different packs, from a desire to be kind to humans to one where humans should be treated as property, these packs play games of politics and often times ends with vampiric corpses lining the alleyways of the city's underworld.

EXSANGUINATION

Vampires are leeches upon the world, and thus they sport their iconic fangs which can be retracted as needed. Blood of the mortal kind is needed to survive, however this need comes with evolutionary benefits. Being fully fed grants enhanced strength, speed, durability, and heightened senses. Additionally, the vampire bite induces a paralytic effect on the victim, putting them in a lethargic state.

VAMPIRE BLOOD

All Vampires have supernatural blood. It is used for fueling powerful vampiric rituals and to cull mortals into a cycle of addiction and submission. Anyone whom drinks the blood of a vampire will feel a immediate high akin to heroine and ecstasy. Feeding this addiction, causes the user to be enthralled to the Vampire, simply in fear of not being able to get his next fix.

IMMORTALITY

Vampires have infinite unlife, however this does not mean they can not be destroyed. They do not age after the moment they were sired and keep whatever physical appearance they had before their siring, unless specified by a Lineage. Besides sunlight and fire, there isn't much that can destroy a vampire. Vampires are  able to heal from decapitation, staking and crushing.
